An inscription in gold letters is visible on the reverse of the plaque: “Laudin au fauxbourgs/De Manigne/a Limoges/IL”
The Laudins are a famous dynasty of enamelers active in Limoges in the 17th and 18th centuries. They owned two workshops, including the one in the Manigne suburb mentioned in the inscription. The signature on the back corresponds to that found in the production of Jacques II Laudin (1663-1729).
Two labels are present on the back of the frame.
