Jean Rouppert (1887-1979) is a French designer, painter and sculptor, born in Custines, near Nancy. From 1913 to 1924, he was employed as a decorator, then as a designer in the Emile Gallé Establishments in Nancy, where he then stood out as an artist of decorative arts. From 1925, he became independent and opened his studio in Lyon, then in St-Alban-les-Eaux in 1932. He presented works in galleries and especially at the Salon des Beaux-arts in Lyon where he was awarded a medal in 1938.
