1815 Ladies' Lavater With 30 Colored Plates

Here is a copy of the famous work by the Swiss Doctor Johannes Lavater (1741-1801) on the description of a person's character according to their physiognomy, less widespread than the "Lavater des Hommes":

Followed by an Essay on the Means of Procreating Children of the Mind.

Uncommon so-called "working" work, containing 30 pretty period colored plates (enhanced engravings).

Collated complete. 96 pages. Dimensions: 12 x 9 cm.

Solid green binding in used condition, testifying to frequent consultation. Corners bumped, covers rubbed. Headcaps present and solid. Healthy interior, paper foxing.
On the first cover of the binding, slightly stained on its right side, is read "LAVATER DES FEMMES" in gilt letters, while the title of the endpaper mentions "des Dames".
