Beautiful and large copper JUG, with baluster body with depressed base, truncated conical neck, oblique straight foot, bridged spout at the neck, molded domed lid and swinging handle. Rolled thumb.
Control hallmark with crowned R affixed twice on the movable handle.
Height: 39 cm.
SOUTH OF FRANCE, Late 17th or early 18th century.


Small tears and wear of the copper winding around the iron stiffener of the base.
These hallmarks with crowned C or R are very rare to see on utilitarian copperware.
