"Six-leaf Screen, Grotesque Decoration, Double-sided Painted Canvas, 17th Century"
A six-panel screen from the 17th century, made of painted canvas on an original frame. Each panel features a vertical grotesque-style decoration. One side is painted in tones of sepia and ochre, with rocaille-patterned frames. It features a varied ornamental repertoire: trophies of arms, urns, foliage, shells, musical instruments, medallions, and stylized animal figures. The ensemble evokes the influence of Italian grotesques and architectural decorations from the late 17th century. The second side, in shades of gray and blue, presents a similar composition in structure but with a more muted palette. Similar motifs are found: flower vases, birds, hanging medallions, foliage, and plant wreaths. The panels are grouped in sets of three. Dimensions of each panel: 248 cm by 68 cm wide.
