Raymond Tschudin was a student at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts in the studio of Henri Dropsy.
He exhibited at the Salon des artistes français, of which he was a member, and obtained a bronze medal in 1938 and a silver medal in 1944.
He was awarded the Grand Prix de Rome in medal engraving in 1945 and became a resident of the Villa Medici in Rome from 1946 to 1949.
