Jean-Baptiste Vassou (1739 – 1807), carpenter and cabinetmaker in Paris. Master on the twenty-eighth of January 1767. Louis XVI mahogany chest of drawers, opening with three rows of drawers. The uprights, in fluted columns, rest on four tapered and fluted legs. Black marble top. Gilt bronze ornamentation: locks, pull handles, falls and sabots. France, 18th century. Stamped JB VASSOU.
