Biedermeier Round Sewing Table, Walnut, Ebonized Legs, South Germany Circa 1820
Beautiful round Biedermeier sewing table from southern Germany, 1825.
Walnut veneer and frame. In the center of the tabletop, a round rootwood marquetry with ebony edging. Ebonized, curved square legs. In the center, a centerboard with visible traces of an old sewing basket. In the front, in the center, a drawer with maple wood interior fittings and a retractable needle cushion. Restored condition, hand-polished shellac.
