When in Paris, Dali used to take a suite at the Ritz hotel.Silver print circa 1980 by André VILLERS, signed by the photographer lower right, Stamp "Photographie © - André Villers", dated and located on the back.Dimensions: 30.5 x 40cm.Provenance: Serge Aboukrat Collection, ParisAndré Villers (1930 – 2016) met Pablo Picasso in March 1953, the two men formed a deep friendship, the latter giving him his first Rolleiflex camera. From their collaboration were born numerous portraits of Picasso, they produced together a collection of 30 photos under the title Diurnes accompanied by an original text by Jacques Prévert. André Villers will create numerous portraits of artists including Salvador Dali, Tapies, César, Fernand Léger, Jacques Prévert, Marc Chagall, Juan Miro, Jean Cocteau, Le Corbusier, Léo Ferré, Zao Wou Ki, etc…
