"Gilded Wood Console Table, Louis XVI Style – 2nd Part Of The 19th Century"
Beautiful Louis XVI console table in gilded wood, all sides, topped with a Brocatelle Jaune marble from the Jura. The latter is surrounded by a groove and has projecting angles. It rests on a sculpted and openwork belt, decorated in its center with a large Louis XVI knot which seems to hold a large garland of flowers accompanied by dense foliage. This piece of furniture has the particularity of being equipped with lateral pulls enlarging the surface of the console. The latter rests on feet carved with fluting and projecting motifs. In the upper part, rosettes in cartouches adorn each corner of the console. In the lower part, a sculpted spacer forming an X is accompanied by a large urn topped with a flame. ******** Period: 2nd part of the 19th century Excellent condition.
