Small Regional Buffet In Solid Chestnut - Mid-19th Century

Sideboard from the Nord-Loire region in light solid chestnut. Composed of a large frieze drawer opening by a handle with an iron clip in its centre, this character piece of furniture has two doors with asymmetrical high movement joining in the center one on top of the other without a pilaster. These doors have a framed interior with a light molding and small discreet iron hinges on each side. In the center two entrances in elegantly carved iron have a lock and a key in working order. This ironwork is completely authentic to that time. Inside this sober furniture we discover a large shelf on racks. In the lower part, a single crosspiece cut with a discreet chamfer on the edge stands out with the cutout of the feet.
