The Artist:
Eutrope Bouret (1833-1906) was a renowned French sculptor and a student of Louis-Charles-Hippolyte Buhot. A regular exhibitor at the Paris Salon starting in 1875, Bouret is celebrated for the elegance of his figures and the precision of his detailing.
