Pierre Bourgogne (1838-1904) was born in Paris and died in Sèvres (Hauts-de-Seine), a student of V. Galland, Ch. Polish and Lequien.
He exhibited at the Paris Salon and then at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1869 to 1904 where he received an award in 1888.
Then at the Universal Exhibition of 1889 he obtained a medal. He also exhibited at the Royal Academy in London in 1888.
Many works by this artist are found in various French museums: Béziers, Rennes Morlaix, Nancy.
The oil painting and the frame arecarefully and professionally restored.
