Jules Alexandre Gamba de Preydour (1846-1931) was noticed by Jean-Léon Gérôme in 1866

and became his pupil until 1870.

He participated in the “Salon Des Artistes” in Paris from 1869 and became a member in 1886.

Today, some works by Gamba de Preydour can be found in the“musée des Beaux-Arts de Chartres” in France.

The oil painting is adorned with a beautiful gilded frame.

The oil painting and the frame are carefully and professionally restored.
