"Liturgical Silver Cruets, France, Provence Circa 1820"
Lidded cruets with a circular base and a wide, pear-shaped embossed body, each with a different decoration chiseled on a guilloché background. On the wine cruet: vines in the cut-out leather frames, and on the water cruet: bunches of rushes. The spout is flared and has high, curved edges, a ring separates it from the body. The added high handle has a plant scroll. The lid grips are in the shape of small bubbles. The cruet tray, with its very pronounced oval shape, has a central depression, without the cruet positioning tenons.
