Serge Mendjisky (1929-2017) is a French painter and photographer born in Paris. Immersed in the art world from his childhood thanks to his father, Maurice Mendjisky, a member of the Ecole de Paris, he trained at the École des Beaux-Arts. He then became known through exhibitions in Europe, the United States and Japan. Initially focusing his career on painting, his style and technique are similar to those of post-impressionist and pointillist painters. He then made photography his main means of expression from the 2000s onwards, creating multidimensional works with cubist overtones through collages of different photographic images of famous cities, such as New York and Venice. Today, his works are exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Pushkin Museum in Moscow, among others.
