Offering Dish Decorated With Agnus Dei - 18th Century
Collection dish from the end of the 18th century. A German work probably from the Nuremberg region. In embossed brass, engraved and punched and decorated in the center with a medallion representing the lamb of the Resurrection, the Christ symbol par excellence in Christian religious art.
The lamb, haloed, carries a cross with a pole and banner, a common motif in medieval and Renaissance Christian iconography. Dimension of 34 cm in diameter.
Good condition. Note a small perforation on the lower frieze.
