Superb and rare Artifort Oyster armchair with chrome cross base from 1965. This very comfortable and swivel armchair was designed by Pierre Paulin (1927-2009), famous for his organic and innovative seating, and manufactured by Artifort in the 1960s. The shape of the molded plywood shell is filled with enveloping foam evoking the opening of an oyster. The central swivel base is in chrome metal. The seat is low and enveloping, offering excellent comfort with a cottony feel. A rare model in this configuration in very good condition.
