Born in Biot, I became a blown glass designer out of love. Moreover, a love story is often at the origin of success. Whether it is love for a material, a place or a person. For example, Eloi Monod (founder of the Verrerie de Biot) was in love with Lucette Augé-Laribé, daughter of a famous potter from Biot; He had the idea of making rustic glasses to accompany table services. This was the origin of the famous bubbled glass. I fell in love with Jean-Claude Novaro who worked in this glassworks where I was executive secretary and, in 1977, we built the Novaro workshop, a place essentially focused on the unique piece. Sharing Jean-Claude Novaro's overflowing imagination, exchanging our creative ideas combined with his dexterity of execution, was energizing. When we separated in 1982, I kept the workshop and, helped by two accomplished glassmakers, launched my own designs, both in decorative glassware and the unique piece. My research was essentially focused on the harmony of colors and the femininity of forms. 30 years of passion for this rare craft followed, crowned with success. I also invested in the tourism sector of my village in order to make it known even more. Biot beats with all the arts that animate it: jewelry, glassware, ceramics, painting, gastronomy, sculpture, etc. This town is incredibly rich in art! And then, in the 1990s, Nicolas Laty and Léa (the daughter I had with Jean-Claude NOVARO) met. This led Nicolas to visit our workshops, become interested in glass, learn the trade on the job, and quickly find a very particular style, more oriented towards the animal world and comics. Today, he is a recognized and appreciated glassmaker. So, I feel like I have passed on the passion for this extraordinary profession.https://www.biot-tourisme.com/focus-biot-vu-par-ses-habitants/michele-luzoro-portrait/
