GANNAT COMMUNE FIREFIGHTER OFFICER HELMET, type 1895, Third Republic. 23978 Entirely in chromed metal. Spherical bomb edged at the bottom with a protruding bead. Visor and neck cover welded to the bomb at the bottom, they are folded back on themselves to form a border ring. Crest with internal fixing screws to the bomb, decorated with a flaming bomb on the mask, gilded brass front plate representing a shield stamped with a flaming grenade, surmounted by a crown and a ribbon bearing the inscription "SAPEURS POMPIERS DE GANNAT" framed by oak and laurel branches. Tubular plume holder with a square section slightly decreasing towards the bottom engraved with acanthus leaves. Inner cap in black waxed leather cut into nine wolf teeth gilded with an iron on the edges. Size 55 cm. France. Third Republic. Very good condition.
