Object description :

"Enameled Gold Shuttle - Paris, 1775 Master Goldsmith Jean-joseph Barrière"
Bucolic decor comprising on each side three enameled scenes painted in pastel colors, one of which represents a young girl having a crown of flowers placed on her head. The central medallions are surrounded by a garland of laurels tied with a ribbon called "à la Marie-Antoinette". They are linked by motifs on an enamel simulating agate stone symbolizing abundance and joy. The pierced contours are decorated with stylized roses, leaves and turquoise blue enamels. The body is very finely pierced with a decoration of stars and foliage. Hallmarks of the master goldsmith Jean Joseph Barrière. Charge: Fleur de Bassinet for 1768-1775M: for 1775-1776Discharge: Tête Casquequée for 1768-1775Gold snuffboxes by this master goldsmith can be found in particular in the collections of the Louvre and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Snuff boxes are more common, however, navettes are extremely rare, moreover, according to our expertise, this one represents Queen Marie Antoinette when she became Queen on May 10, 1774. The dates of the goldsmiths' hallmarks correspond exactly to this period. See also the striking resemblance to Héliog. & Imp. Lemercier & CieMARIE ANTOINETTELength 11.5cm., 4 1/2in.Weight: 47.7 g

A gold object isn't just an investment; it's an heirloom.

It's a rare, timeless piece that spans generations without losing its value or beauty. Unlike material goods that wear out or go out of style, gold remains intact; it can be passed down, and it tells a story. Giving or acquiring a gold object combines elegance with security, pleasure with heritage.
