Silver neck medal issued by La Monnaie de Paris. depicting on: the obverse: the bust of Orpheus facing left, wearing a laurel wreath and holding a lyre in his left hand. the reverse: an angel seated on a rectangular cartouche holding a feather in his right hand and a horn in his left hand. Diameter: 3.5 cm Weight: 22gr silver inscription on the edge The Orpheus medal was designed in 1893 by Marie Alexandre Lucien Coudray, who won the Grand Prix de Rome scholarship for her engraving
