Atmospheric painting of a group of shepherds at sunset by the Swiss artist Bernhard Freuler, oil on canvas, signed.About the artist: Bernhard Freuler (1796-1858) graduated from the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich, the capital of Bavaria, in 1816 and then completed a short training at the Vienna Academy. In 1833, he was elected archivist of the city of Schaffhausen. As a painter and graphic artist, he is best known for his dreamlike landscapes, which clearly mark the transition from Neoclassicism to Romanticism.
