"Louis XVI Period Cabriolet Armchair, Estamille Jean Simon"
Refined Louis XVI period cabriolet armchair in lacquered beech, stamped Jean Simon, Parisian cabinetmaker received master on July 24, 1787. In the purest neoclassical tradition, this armchair has a rectangular back, armrests with sculpted cuffs and resting on turned supports, as well as graceful fluted tapered legs, topped with dice carved with rosettes. The structure, of great elegance, is sublimated by a light lacquer with a patinated charm. The seat is upholstered in a striped and floral fabric, perfectly matching that of the bergère from the same set. This cabriolet armchair forms a harmonious set with the bergère stamped Jean Simon also presented. A great opportunity to acquire a coherent and rare duo, reflecting Parisian refinement under Louis XVI.
