"Bacchante Fuyante" by Joé Descomps - Automobile radiator mascot - Representing a young naked woman running, made by Joé Descomps whose real name is Joseph Emmanuel Comier for ETLING around 1920-1930. ETLING edition. Signed on the base "Joe Descomps" commissioned by the firm Edmond Etling Cie, manufacturer linked to automobiles and racing. Model adopted by SARA automobiles (Société des Automobiles à froid par air) from 1921 to 1923. Reference Michel Legrand "Automobile Mascots" page 56. Very beautiful original patina, it is a bronze in a beautiful state of preservation covered with a black patina. Not being a specialist in the subject, I preferred not to touch the patina and not to clean it. Sold in its original condition....found in an old garage in Auvergne...
