To date, we know very little about the life of this painter except that he was active in Haarlem from 1630 to 1653. There is no registration with a Guild, which could suggest that his activity as a painter was not his main activity. In any case, we are discovering him little by little with works that appear on the art market. Our painting, probably painted around 1640, is a still life. On an entablature, are placed: a Romer, a pewter jug, a spoon and a cake on a plate. Note a trace of a monogram on the entablature and a wax seal on the back of the panel. Old restorations.
