Chinese Spring-loaded Baby Call Bell, Late 19th Century
Beautiful spring bell from Regulus or Zamak, these alloys of tin and antimony that could be molded, and which flourished on end of 19th century.
2 patinas, 2 different golds, dark and pink.
The Chinese child, in an advanced position, strikes bell if you move his right arm back. Gong is bronze silver-plated or nickel-plated and rings with a beautiful clear sound. Entire movement and fixings are original, with the exception of a reinforcement under one foot.
Bell of an unusual model, probably from South Germany (Nuremberg?),
in very good condition, recently cleaned and waxed.
