A Silver Strap End Decorated With A Lion Pressing A Flower, 13th-15th Century
This magnificent piece was discovered in East Stoke, Nottinghamshire, England, many years ago, not far from the site of what is believed to be the last battle of the Wars of the Roses in 1487.
The seller has indicated that the strap end could be much older. If the lion is pressing the Scottish thistle, it could date from the time of Edward I. Edward had many troubles with the Scots… Dimensions: 2.7 x 1.5 cm.
