"Bamboo Root Sculpture China "
Curious work of carving in a bamboo root playing with the small roots to shape the beard and hair of this laughing portrait of a Chinese sage. Antique work dating from the end of the 19th or beginning of the 20th century, the years having provided it with a beautiful patina. This sculpture rests on a turned wooden display painted and varnished black. Total height 35 cm, height of the sculpture alone 29 cm, width 19 cm.
