Print depicting a lion hunt, part of a series of six large hunting scenes with decorative borders inspired by the tapestries made from cartoons designed by Johannes Stradanus (Jan van der Straet, known as Giovanni Stradano 1523-1605) for the Medici court. Burin-engraved scene published by Michel van Lochom (1601-1647), French, Flemish engraver, printer and publisher, du Roy for soft-size prints, rue St Jacques à la Rose Blanche Couronnée (1636), born in Antwerp; in Paris no later than 1624, where he married Marguerite Lenoir, daughter of a bookseller, in 1625 (his sister married Pierre Mariette). On Lochom's death, the property was divided between Pierre Mariette and Balthasar Moncornet. Size 45*33 cm and 58*45 cm with frame
