Hand-knotted Turkmen Rug – 1960s–1970s
Tribal hand-knotted rug, most likely of Turkmen origin (northern Afghanistan or southern Uzbekistan), dating from the 1960s–1970s.
Made of wool on a cotton or light wool foundation, it features a soft and flexible texture, typical of rugs intended for everyday domestic use in nomadic settings. The design is based on the classic Turkmen göl motif, repeated over a red field with dark blue and ivory accents. The border is decorated with a geometric diamond pattern.
Its dimensions are approximately 200 x 115 cm. The rug is in good overall condition, with minor wear consistent with its age and original function.
An authentic and decorative piece, ideal for rustic or ethnic interiors, or for collectors of tribal textiles.
