Elegant 19th century inkwell, of Russian origin, in finely chiseled gilt bronze, resting on a beautiful malachite base, an emblematic stone of imperial decorative art. The lid is decorated with a reclining bronze lion and opens onto a compartment intended to contain an ink reservoir (not supplied). Floral friezes in relief on the front, characteristic of the decorative style of Tsarist Russia.
