JAPAN - Edo period (1603-1868). KABUTO composed of 16 wrought iron slats. THEHEN NO ANA (opening at the top) in gilded copper with three steps. SHIKORO (neck cover) with two steps in black lacquered iron and blue and white silk braid (slight wear). FUKIGAESHI (small fins) in shiny black lacquered iron. MABI SA SHI (visor) in wrought iron. MAETATE in wood and black and gold textured lacquer depicting stylized deer antlers. Dimensions: 30 x 30.5 x 28.5 cm. Sold with the base. Dimensions with the base: 51.5 x 30.5 x 28.5 cm.
