Oscar Ruffony, Bust Of Joan Of Arc In Armor, Late 19th - Early 20th Century
Very beautiful bust of Joan of Arc in armor, her gaze turned towards the sky in search of a sign from the divine. Signed by the Swiss artist Oscar Ruffony (1874-1946), this sculpture in alloy with a golden patina, bearing the stamp of the founder Montoy Frères, rests on an octagonal black marble base. Joan's face is very delicate and imbued with gentleness, contrasting with the military harshness linked to the wearing of armor. Note a slight wear of the gilding on some prominent profiles, but the patina linked to this wear of time remains of the most beautiful effect, especially since it is harmoniously highlighted on this pretty black marble. Weight of the whole: 4230 grams Total height: 23 cm Dimensions of the base: length 26 cm, width 14 cm.
