Very beautiful drawing from the Art Nouveau period, watercolor and gouache on paper, signed lower center Marguerite Bauban Binet, representing wild flowers in their natural state on a speckled background in shades of blue and mauve. Sister of the architect René Binet (Universal Exhibition at Porte BINET), she created cartoons for the Gobelins factory. Her tapestry model for a screen was created in 1909 at the Manufacture, close to our model, it is decorated with a central character. The cartoon is kept in the collections of the Mobilier National. Small vertical scratch in the center of 0.3mm, a slight depression on the top of a poppy, otherwise good condition of freshness, in an original white mat mounted on a strong cardboard.
