Watercolor depicting a seascape, with boats (steam and sailing) in the port of Brest in Brittany (with part of the Château on the side), dated 14.3.22, label of the Galerie Saluden* in Brest on the back, from the early 20th century. This watercolor is in good condition as is its frame. Dated but not signed. Label of the Galerie Saluden in Brest on the back. Please note: the paper is a little yellowed and pitted, some wear on the frame, see photos. * In 1907, Anna Saluden opened her gallery in Brest. She exhibited antiques and old paintings. Delaunay, Compard, Bernard, Sérusier. Many artists passed through Saluden. She moved to Quimper in 1941, when her shop was bombed, to take up her first quarters in rue Saint-Mathieu until 1959. Nestled on rue Laennec since then, the gallery has delighted generations with its exhibitions and reissued antiques. Closed in 2023.
