In typical Tuscan style, these six candelabra adorned the altar of a private chapel within a prestigious villa on the hills of Florence. In a Catholic religious context, the altar is enriched with candelabra during the liturgical preparation. The candelabra are always in even number, usually six, four higher and two lower, arranged in an orderly manner to illuminate the sacred space and symbolize the light of Christ and the presence of God.
Made of finely carved wood in the round, the candlesticks feature authentic and well-preserved lacquer and gold leaf gilding. They are equipped with a wrought iron wax collector.
It is rare to be able to acquire a complete altar, corresponding to this group of six, as the candelabra were often dispersed. Even their imposing size is rare; Only high-ranking families could afford sacred furniture of this level.
Excellent state of preservation.
