Extremely rare Travel cutlery set from the period of King Louis Philippe presented in its original box which belonged to Mr Grus, Royal Notary in Evian. The sterling silver set is complete with its large Fork, large Spoon and Table Knife, i.e. 3 pieces with a fabulous Commedia Dell'arte decor with all its Masks / characters on the spatulas and attachments. In addition, the cutlery is engraved with Coat of Arms under a Count's Crown and as a reminder on the handle of the knife his monogram with the Count's crown (also present on the lid of the box). Steel Knife Blade with "Paris" mention. Minerva Hallmarks 1st Title (.950) and Hallmarks of Master Goldsmith Jean Baptiste LANDRY received in 1833 for the cutlery and Pierre-François QUEILLE specialty cutler for the knife. This exceptional Travel Cutlery Set with its extraordinary decoration and prestigious provenance is in very good condition and complete, micro-scratches from use.
