"Prayer In The Garden Of Gethsemane, Oil On Panel From The School Of Ferrara, 16th Century."
Splendid panel depicting "Jesus' Prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane", painted in oil on panel by a very skilled painter of Ferrarese culture stylistically similar to the style of Benvenuto Tisi known as Garofalo. It is a small predella panel of an altarpiece or a devotional work forming part of a more complex structure that was most likely made in Garofalo's workshop, who, given the quality, could have participated directly in the execution of this, given that his ability to execute very minute pictorial passages is famous, which we even find in some finely decorated frames by Tisi.
The painting is preserved in excellent condition and has been mounted on a beautiful ebonized Roman frame with fine gilded carvings from the first half of the seventeenth century.
The measurements of the panel are: 25cm x 15cm and the measurements with frame: 37cm x 28cm.
The painting has its certificate attesting to its age and authenticity.
