Francis Carco, of Corsican origin, whose real name is François Carcopino-Tusoli, was born in Noumea in 1886 and died in Paris in 1958. He also used the pseudonym Jean d'Aiguières. He frequented Montmartre and was a friend of Roland Dorgelès and Pierre Mac Orlan.
