"Set Of Ten 925 Silver Plates, Mexico, 1970s "
Set of ten 925 silver plates, Mexico, 1970s Beautiful set of ten large plates in solid 925 thousandths silver, made in Mexico in the 1970s. Each plate has a wide, smooth rim enhanced by a finely molded edge, adorned with a stylized rocaille-type relief decoration, both decorative and discreet. With a generous diameter of 28 cm, these pieces can be used either as presentation plates or as coasters for an elegant table. Their combined weight of more than 6.5 kg attests to the richness of the material and the quality of the work. The set shows scratches from use and some small surface alterations, normal for pieces that have been used. The plates have been cleaned briefly; a more thorough polishing would fully revive the shine of the metal and reduce visible marks. Typical work of 20th century Mexican silversmithing, these pieces combine functionality, decoration and solidity.
