Pierre Theron (1918-2001)
Large framed oil on canvas by Pierre Théron (Nérac 1918- Bordeaux 2001), painter, sculptor, fresco artist and mosaicist. He studied at the Bordeaux School of Fine Arts, in the studio of René Buthaud and André Caverne. First in the entrance exam for the École nationale des beaux-arts in Paris in 1942, he followed the studios of André Lhote and Jean Dupas. In the 1970s, he designed a set of wall decorations (mosaic on the facade, tapestry inside) for the Maison du Paysan at 13, rue Ferrère in Bordeaux.
