His passion for drawing led him to take evening classes in industrial and artistic drawing. During the war, he was a prisoner in Germany. Released - partly thanks to his talent as a draftsman - he returned to Paris where he attended classes at the free drawing academies of Montparnasse. He rubbed shoulders with the sculptors Paul Belmondo, Antoniucci Volti, Charles Despiau, etc., who encouraged him to exhibit his drawings, watercolors, and paintings. He also tried his hand at sculpture. Then he decided to work with clay in contact with the ceramist Sandor Vinclair. He developed a passion for throwing and presented his pieces at the Salon de l'Imagerie in 1944. In 1947, he was sponsored by Jean Mayodon to exhibit his statuettes inspired by folk art at La Crémaillère. From 1949, he worked occasionally for Pol Chambost, and also Georges Jouve. In the 1950s, replacing Georges Serré, he became a professor of ceramics at the École des Arts Appliqués à l'Industrie in Paris. He trains a new generation of ceramists like Jean-Paul van Lith, Claude Varlan ... Pierre Roulot participates in numerous personal and collective exhibitions in France and abroad (Germany, Italy, Austria, England, Faenza, Ankara, New York, Montreal Tokyo ...). His work is composed of earthenware pieces with colorful and refined graphics whose style recalls that of Matisse, sometimes esoteric or slightly erotic (as in 1962 at the Maxime Old gallery).
