A very beautiful Empire chandelier with nine lights, the arms of the patinated bronze candles extend into a bearded man's head acting as a light bearer. The underside of the chandelier is decorated with gilt bronze leaves, converging towards a pine cone also in gilt bronze. In the center of the chandelier stands a gilt bronze flame, placed on a cassolette. The chains, composed of gilt rings in the shape of knotted ropes, are held by panther heads holding the links in their mouths. The casting and chiseling of the bronze bear witness to exceptional know-how, characteristic of the work of craftsmen before the French Revolution, early 19th century.
