This late 19th-century antique Native American Roach headdress, made by Plains tribesmen, is a remarkable example of traditional tribal art. Made of dyed deer hair, porcupine guard hair, and adorned with a quill, it is mounted on a U-shaped braided cloth backing and secured with leather cords. Worn during ceremonies and important events. 60 x 40 x 32 cm.
