Pair of gilded and chiseled bronze torches, 19th century restoration. Materials: Cast, gilded, chiseled bronze. Mounted on a threaded rod. Dimensions: 26 cm Diameter 12 cm France Private Collection Architecture of the torch: it rests on a beautiful round base richly molded and decorated with palmettes, interlacing, floral sprays and fruits, volutes, ribbons, oves and flat contour. The central shaft rises in the form of an antique column on a shower foot with a bulge with palmettes and flower buds at the bottom, a striated column with a palmette ring, a capital with a checkered and molded decoration and finished with a large crown with flowers and fruits. The top part for the fire is placed with a beautiful round molded socket on a pedestal with floral decoration and with its removable bobeche decorated with palmettes.
