Brass charcoal iron with foliate frieze decoration, dated 1747 and engraved ‘Utrecht’ ‘PV WYK’ on the hinged lid closing with a finely chased heron head hook lock.
The wooden handle formerly attached to the two foliate scroll uprights is missing.
The sole is in copper.
