"Chancay Mask - Peru"
This copper Chancay mask, of pre-Columbian origin (14th-15th century, Peru), is distinguished in particular by the large stylized size of its eyes, a characteristic element of this culture. It is reinforced on the back with resin, a technique that allows it to be stabilized and preserved. These miraculously preserved masks were traditionally placed on top of the funeral bales containing the remains of the deceased. 21 x 15 cm.
