Cornerstone With Ornate Capital 13th Century Origny Abbey Sainte Benoîte Aisne
Very beautiful and large cornerstone with ornate capital.

It comes from the former abbey of the Benedictine nuns of Origny Sainte Benoîte in the Aisne region, completely dismantled and destroyed after the French Revolution and whose stones were sold at auction around 1796 (see J. Poissonnier “Histoire de l'abbaye royale d'Origny-Sainte-Benoite”, 1888, in Bulletin de l'Histoire de France, 1921, p.154).
