Art Deco elegant ovoid vase coverd by matte enamail with a stylized decor of floral and plant motifs in vertical rectangular reserves, circa 1920.
Charles CATTEAU (1880-1966), BOCH KERAMIS La LOUVIERE (Belgium).
*The contours of decorations are slightly incised, subtly giving the piece a delicate relief.
* The color palette is also, as usual with this type of production, very restrained and refined, in neutral tones ranging from light brown to white and from pale green to khaki.
The piece bears the stamped under-glaze mark "BOCH FRES LA LOUVIERE, MADE IN BELGIUM, FABRICATION BELGE" and the mark D.668 corresponding to its type of design "polychrome decor featuring Dahlias and stylized leaves".
This same decor was duplicated in various shapes.
Perfect condition. It is also worth noting the very high quality of the glaze, free of stains or runs, which is quite rare in this ceramic production series.
Dimensions:
